CUMBRIAN businesses are being urged to carefully consider how to make best use of the Internet.
The warning comes from Business Link Cumbria, which says some firms are entering the world of e-commerce without having a clear idea of what they want to get from it.
Personal business adviser David Peacock said while the latest computer technology could be an enormous help in marketing and communications, businesses should ask for help before committing themselves to using it.
He advised businesses to take advice before deciding whether they needed a simple e-mail system or a full-blown company web site.
