KENDAL RUGBY Club are preparing for a big derby match in National Division 2 at their Mint Bridge ground this Saturday (2.15pm) when they play top-six rivals Wharfedale from the Yorkshire Dales.
Kendal secretary Roger Wilson said:"We have problems at present with the snow gone and only light showers forecast for the rest of the week."
A bumper crowd is expected for the clash as Kendal bid to do the double over the Green Machine after a 21-14 victory at Grassington.
Kendal called up Dan Stephens for last weekend's postponed match against Fylde to replace star centre Ian Voortman, who broke a leg at Newbury on the Saturday before Christmas Eve.
Forestry worker Stephens was unavailable for selection before Christmas because he was working away, but is expected to be in Saturday's squad, with full back Mike Scott also set to return after missing two matches with a hamstring pull.
Prop Billy Coxon, who was away in Scotland last weekend, is also likely to be in the starting line-up.
