THE cousin of a man who died after being badly burned in an industrial accident has raised £800 for the North West Air Ambulance.

Jonathan Burns's cousin Edward Burrow died after an industrial accident at TSG Industries, in Nether Kellet, in February 2000.

After the accident, Mr Burrow, 22, from Cowan Bridge, was taken by the North West Air Ambulance to Preston Royal Infirmary for treatment but sadly died from his injuries.

Mr Burns, 28, who comes from Bentham but now lives in Leeds where he works as a civil engineer, ran the Great North Run with three friends to raise the £ 800 for the helicopter service.

He said: "It may not have saved Edward but it does save a lot of lives and we realise the benefit of it to people in the area."

Mr Burrow's mother, Anne, said she was delighted with the tribute to her son and with the money raised for the air ambulance.
