SARAH JONES was on top form as two new records were set at Kendal ASC's final championship gals of the year.
Jones claimed the junior women's 100m breaststroke title in a new championship time of 1-22-01, just ahead of Claire Jopson and Ann Howell.
Young James Crowe showed great promise for the coming season, too, with his record-breaking swim, claiming the under-11 boys 50m backstroke title in 38.02.
Andrew Pearson touched out Liam Robinson for second place.
The premier event for the evenining, the men's 100m freestyle lived up to expectations with a close-fought battle in which Joe Speakman took the honours (57-57) just ahead of Darren Gibson and Grant Fawcett in second and third.
Rob Lilley swam superbly to clinch victory in a keenly-contested men's 100m butterfly in 1-05-23, Gibson and Fawcett again in the the placings.
Sam Glover took first place in the junior men's 100m breaststroke in 1-16-58 with Philip Machin clinching second place from Matthew Clinton in third.
Claire Jopson impressed with her women's 200m backstroke title swim in 2-41-99 from Nicola Rigg and Ann Howell.
Sarah Jones won her second trophy of the evening in the under-15 girls 100m freestyle, chased home by Claire Munday with Emma Matthews in third.
A fine swim from Nicola Rigg (1-21-33) in the under-12 girls 100m inidividual medley took first place ahead of Laura Hogg and Lucy Mackereth.
The under-10 championships were to be decided following the boys and girls 25m freestyle events.
Sophie Matthews (17-54) showed determination to clinch victory in the girls event with Kerry McClurg second and Kirsty-Jo Blenkharn third.
Marc Robinson (17-66) made a tremendous effort to take first place in the boys race just ahead of Joshua Stafford and Ross Kilshaw.
Sophie Matthews and Joshua Stafford were Kendal's under-10 champions of 2000.
Silver medals went to Kerry McClurg and Marc Robinson, while bronzes went to K.

Blenkharn and Nathan Hogg.
Seniors Claire Jopson and Darren Gibson won the best all-round swimmer titles.
Guest of honour Austin Robinson, deput headmaster of Queen Katherine School in Kendal, presented the trophies.
