A DRINK-driver who crashed into another car in Kendal on Boxing Day has been banned from driving for nearly two years.

Police found that Simon McKitterick, 27, of Kirkland, Kendal, was almost three times over the legal limit when he was breathalysed after a minor accident with another car at the junction of Parkside Road and Lound Road.

McKitterick, an unemployed alarm engineer, pleaded guilty at South Lakeland magistrates court to drink driving and to driving without due care and attention.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 23 months and fined him £150 for driving while drunk and a further £100 for driving without due care and attention.

He was also ordered to pay £54 costs.
