MORE than 100 people across Cumbria and north Lancashire have moved off benefits and into work, thanks to the Government's New Deal programme for the jobless over-50s.
The scheme offers a £60 a week employment credit for those finding work, a similar sum for people starting their own business, a personal adviser giving one-to-one help with job searches, and an in-work training grant of up to £750.
