SOUTH Lakeland will see a return to action by fuel price protesters "sooner rather than later," according to the People's Fuel Lobby.

Andrew Spence, northern co-ordinator of group which brought Britain to a virtual standstill last September, told the Gazette the protests would return to the district and surrounding areas.

"There will certainly be further action," he said.

"But I cannot comment to the media about exactly when that will be - but it will be sooner rather than later."

But Mr Spence said the PFL would try to avoid disrupting supplies of fuel to the public by using "hit and run" tactics against the fuel companies.
