TWO people were taken to hospital after two cars and a tractor crashed on the A590 outside Ulverston, causing nearly three hours of traffic chaos.
The accident happened just before 7am on Tuesday just beyond Newland Service Station towards Greenodd.
The tractor turned over on to its side, partially blocking the carriageway and causing long tailbacks in both directions and delays.
The tractor driver, a 65-year-old man from Ulverston, and a 29-year-old man from Barrow, driving one of the cars, were taken to Furness General Hospital.
They were treated for whiplash and bruising and later released.
The other driver was a 29-year-old man from Barrow.
No names were released.
"There was bad traffic congestion for two-and-a-half hours but nothing could have been done to avoid that," said PC Craig Barrass, of Ulverston police.
