A SHOP worker who was caught on camera stealing from her employer has been put on probation for 18 months.
Susan Elaine Pepper, 40, of Vicars Field, Kendal, admitted six charges of theft from Lound Road Garage, where she was an employee.
Ms Pepper also asked South Lakeland Magistrates to take ten other offences into consideration.
Roger Newsome, prosecuting, told the court that over a number of months the managing director at the garage noticed a fall in profits at the shop, and fitted a security camera to record the actions of staff.
The camera revealed Ms Pepper taking money from the till and putting it into her purse on a number of occasions last summer.
Police were informed, and Ms Pepper was arrested last September.
In mitigation, John Cooke said the defendant felt she had let herself and her employer down, and so was suffering double remorse.
Ms Pepper was also ordered to pay £590 compensation and costs of £ 118.
