THE CREDITS Centre above Ambleside Library is "a great success story", Coun Anne Parker told Lakes Parish Council.
She said 2,722 people had used the community training centre since it opened in May.
Courses offered included art and theatre, local history and cultural business.
There was also a youth service for "disaffected youngsters" who were unhappy at school.
Coun Parker said the centre was grateful for donations received from the parish council.
