MOTORISTS are urged to avoid a stretch of the A591 where water improvement works caused long tailbacks last weekend.
North West Water has apologised for the disruption between the Low Wood Hotel and Ambleside, and pledged to alleviate further delays with warning signs and more efficient temporary traffic lights.
A spokesman said operators were working seven days a week to finish the work by Easter.
