POLICE in Kendal are warning home owners to be extra vigilant about locking windows and doors following a spate of "sneak in" burglaries in the town.
The thefts have occurred during the day time, particularly in the Heron Hill area and the thief appears to have entered homes through unlocked doors.
Police have released a description of a man in his mid-to-late twenties believed to be involved in the crimes.
The man, described as being is around 5ft 8, has a goatee beard and a thin face.
He often wears a woolly hat.
