THE ROUTE of the 26th Malcom Wilson Rally on Saturday, March 3 has been changed this year.

Logging in the Lake District forests has created several potential 'short-cuts', so the route has been altered for safety reasons.

Organisers say the changes will also prevent competitors becoming complacent about the well-established rally and add to the challenge.

Nationwide competition is ensured for would-be local heroes thanks to the support from the BTRDA, Clear Systems Solutions Gold Star and Team Challenge, the Dunlop Silver Star Championship and the raceandrally.com 1400 Championship.

Spearheading the local challenge are Morecambe's Phil Burton/Mick Fallows in their Escort Mk 2, BRTDA Series regular Ian Joel/Graeme Wood from Carnforth in an Escort Cosworth 4x4 and Arnside's Wayne and Neill Sisson.

Regulations and entry form are available from Ian Wright, 7 Byron Avenue, Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth LA5 8HN upon receipt of a sae.
