SANTA Claus will ride again, according to Kendal Lions Club.
The man in red and white received a rough ride at Christmas after he was pelted with stones and heckled by youths on housing estates in Kendal as he rode on his sleigh entertaining small children and raising money for charity.
Kendal Lions publicity officer Charles Cooper confirmed that Santa would definitely be back next Christmas, in spite of the trouble.
"We could not let the town down, particularly the young children."
he said.
He added there were plans to make improvements to the sleigh after Santa complained of back pain from bending over to hand out sweets during the fund-raising this Christmas passed.
Mr Cooper said the Lions festive season had gone well and the money raised would soon be on its way to local good causes.
