(Breach): The Wallflowers (Interscope).
This album is a great grower.
At first listening you might think it is a little samey, but give it time and its merits start to shine through.
Jakob Dylan is a good songwriter with a superb voice and his band are a tight outfit.
Like the group's last album Bringing Down The Horse, most of the best songs come in the first half - notably the catchy single Sleepwalker, the driving opening track Letters From The Wasteland, the insistent I've Been Delivered and the poppy Some Flowers Bloom Dead.
This is top-notch melodic American guitar rock.
