TWO climbers have discovered the body of a man missing in the Lake District for five months.
They came across the remains of 68-year-old Michael Cohens on a ledge 100 metres below the summit of Great End, near Scafell Pike.
Mr Cohens, a Salford University lecturer from Altrincham, Greater Manchester, went missing from holiday accommodation in Rosthwaite, Borrowdale, on September 23 last year.
A major weekend search of the Lake District fells involving over 90 mountain rescue personnel and 20 search dogs failed to find Mr Cohen shortly after he went missing.
The two climbers made their grim discovery at around 3.30pm on Saturday.
Members of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team took the body off the fells.
Police say they are not treating the death as suspicious.
The coroner has been informed.
