PLANS are moving ahead for the second festival of jazz in Broughton-in-Furness, from September 14-16.
All the bands which appeared in the village last year have been invited, with early indications that they enjoyed the festival, and will return this year.
During a recent meeting of the jazz committee, it was decided to promote more concerts in Broughton throughout 2001.
The first concerts will be mainly traditional, Dixieland and New Orleans jazz, but the committee would like to promote all styles of music, such as folk, classical, blues, rock and country.
Anybody with ideas is invited to contact Paul at the bakery, Malcolm at the post office or Jeff at the information centre.
