CHARITY Age Concern South Lakeland has organised an all-party debate to let pensioners decide where their best interests lie at the next General Election.

The charity's director Mary Christian said: "Although the General Election campaign proper has not yet started we know it won't be long before politicians of all shades start trying to woo this vital group."

Liberal Democrat PPC Tim Farron and Labour PPC John Bateson are to attend, but a Conservative representative has yet to be confirmed.

Radio Cumbria broadcaster Martin Lewis will be in the chair.

Everybody with an interest in the welfare of older people is welcome to take part in the event at Stricklandgate House, Kendal, tomorrow (Saturday, January 27) from 10am to 12 noon.

Guests are asked to use the entrance from Stricklandgate House car park.
