SLIPSTREAM, a group of young people aged 14-18 from South Lakeland, has received additional funding from Cumbria Police to address community safety issues.
The group is putting on a series of performances in schools addressing the problems of bullying, and so many schools have expressed an interest that the number of performances has had to be increased from six to ten.
Slipstream approached the South Lakeland Community Safety Partnership for £500 to fund the extension.
Superintendent Colin Mather said the police were happy to provide it.
Dianne Thexton, a member of Slipstream, told the Gazette: "We are delighted to receive this money.
It will help the group address the problems that young people are facing locally."
Slipstream will be holding a public performance at Castle Street Youth Centre, Kendal on February 19 at 7pm.
