TWO games were played in a single outing as Ambleside met Barrow in a combined All England Vase cup tie and a Netherwood League fixture.
Midfielders had most of the play during regular time, although outstanding play by the Barrow keeper prevented At full time the game was goalless and the Netherfield League fixture therefore ended in a draw, but the Vase went into extra time where the golden goal rule came into play.
Within seconds Barrow put the ball into the net, but the shot appeared to come off an attacker's foot.
Despite strong protests and a referees meeting the controversial goal was allowed to stand.
