TWENTY years after Crook Morris dancers put bells on their knees and started to step out, an anniversary bonanza is being planned.

During the weekend of July 20 to 22, more than 250 visiting dancers are being invited to help Crook Morris celebrate its birthday.

First formed in the village of Crook, the dancers have become a major attraction in South Lakeland.

A full programme of dance tours is planned for the Saturday, followed by an evening ceilidh in the Lakes School, Troutbeck Bridge.

Kirkby Lonsdale is the backdrop to Sunday's festivities.

Crook Morris and its army of visiting dancers will make their way through the town and perform in the market square.

Former Crook members are asked to get in touch with the squire Jenny Wilson on 01539-720551.
