FROM the people who brought you "Daltonbury" comes a new date for the Furness festival-goers diary.

"Febworth," hosted by The Cavendish Arms, Dalton-in-Furness, is billed as a weekend of heady indulgence with all the traditional festival ingredients.

From the great sounds, to the abundant ale, from the non-stop entertainment to the buoyant crowds - Febworth promises to be the genuine article on a local scale.

Bands already booked for the long weekend of music include one of Barrow's top Indie bands 12ft Machete who earned themselves the title of best rock band at the South Lakes Music Awards last December.

Other bands include Rumble Guts and The Palma Violets.

Early Sunday afternoon is reserved for an acoustic session and local musicians are welcome to turn up with their instruments and have a go.

But despite having all the crucial ingredients, including mystery fringe poetry performances, the beauty of Febworth is that it won't entail stinky chemical toilets, muddy sleeping bags or hitching down the M6.

Cavendish Arms Landlord Ian Atkinson said: "Last year the event was a great success.

It was brilliant and there was a real festival atmosphere.

The line-up is coming together and there will no doubt be some familiar faces, bands which have come along in previous years."
