JAZZ has found a new home in Broughton-in-Furness.
Eccle Riggs Hall, which stands in its own grounds and lays claim to panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells, was voted one of the best venues in last year's Broughton Jazz Festival.
And from tomorrow (Saturday), the hall will stage concerts on the first Saturday in every month.
The concert series is being organised by Broughton Jazz festival committee, and this week, Manchester based Smokey City Jazz Band will set the ball rolling with their own take on Dixieland Jazz.
Festival committee member Paul Loftus said that demand for quality music in Broughton had prompted them to take action.
"We decided to go for the best.
The bands are all well known, the first few are from Manchester, Chester, Liverpool and Birmingham.
The venue is perfect.
It's plush with great views.
We want to make it a really good night out."
