WITH Britain's first-ever Holocaust Memorial Day held on Saturday, the Brewery cinema in Kendal has a timely screening of the film Into The Arms of Strangers: The Story of the Kindertransport (PG).
The story of Kindertransport - the Neville Chamberlain government's pre-war asylum in Britain for 10,000 Jewish children from Germany and neighbouring countries - is presented in documentary style and narrated by Judi Dench.
Elderly survivors recall their stories, interspersed with black-and-white footage and family photographs.
The film can be seen at the Brewery on Sunday and Monday.
