PART of the A590 was blocked for more than two hours after a car left the road and hit a tree near Greenodd on Friday.
The one-vehicle accident, on a narrow stretch between Greenodd and the junction of Bouth Road, happened just before 6am.
The driver of the Skoda pickup, Anthony Scott, 24, from Newcastle, suffered minor head and chest injuries.
He was taken to Furness General Hospital, in Barrow, by Ulverston Ambulance team.
The male passenger in the pick-up, also from Newcastle, was also taken to hospital suffering from minor cuts and bruises.
They were both released later the same day.
Police diverted traffic onto the A5092 between Bouth Road End and Greenodd until the road re-opened shortly before 8am.
