PLANS for a £45,000 outdoor activity course have been submitted to South Lakeland District Council by a Kendal hotel.

The Castle Green Hotel wants to build the one-acre course for corporate clients, including senior managers on team-building exercises.

A planning application for the course has been submitted and, if successful, it is due to open on September 3.

Hotel managing director James Alexander said the activity course was part of a continuing drive to improve customer service.

"The course is deigned for corporate use, such as team-building exercises for senior managers and it will be part of our conference and training centre.

"We will be one of a handful of hotels across the country to have such facilities.

We saw the opportunity and we have the land - the course will be in the woods and it is part of our long term policy to look after the woods."

Two and a half full-time jobs will be created if the course gets permission.
