CUMBERLAND faced a delay before renewing their fightback on the second day of their Minor Counties Championship match with Cambridgeshire at Netherfield's Parkside Road groiund.
Heavy showers prevented the start of play at the scheduled time of 11am, said Cumberland press officer Ken Ion.
Cumberland, without their three professionals Marcus Sharp, Ashley Metcalfe and David Pennett who all cried off, were struggling at 90-6 in reply to Cambridgeshire's all-out total of 256.

Wilson, whose grandmother still lives in the town, made a top-scoring 82 for the visitors against his native county and there were three wickets apiece for skipper Martin Wilson and Peter Lawson.
Skipper Lewis and ex-captain Simon Dutton were together at the crease when play closed on Monday evening and need to make an impact if Cumberland are to recover from their early crash that saw them at 66-4 at one stage.
