At the end of May, United Utilities launched a scheme to help raise money for The National Trust's Lake District Crisis Fund.
They pledged to give £1 to the Fund for every visitor to the UU website who clicked on the Fund logo, up to £50,000 and within a limit of 100 days.
They report having reached 43,000 clicks, but really need help to get those last few thousand people to visit the UU site.
With only a couple of clicks, visitors to www.unitedutilities.com can help the National Trust to combat the aftermath of foot and mouth in the Lake District and it does not cost site visitors.
United Utilities has promised to donate £1 to the National Trust's Lake District Crisis Fund for every person who visits their website.
Although there are now fewer new foot and mouth cases, the devastating effects of this crisis are longer-term.
The objectives of the Lake District Crisis Fund are threefold: to preserve the special Herdwick sheep; to assist tenant farmers; and to finance the necessary environmental management to support this precious landscape.
There are 100 days to raise £ 50,000.
It is now already 50 days through and an amazing £ 43,000 has been raised - but we really need your help now to reach our target.
