A seminar aimed at helping food producers to supply more local produce to restaurants and hotels in the area is being held at Redhills, Penrith, on Wednesday, August 1.
More than 40 businesses are expected to attend the event, when McClures of Windermere will explain the ins and outs of selling through a wholesaler.
Sarah Williams, food marketing officer at Made in Cumbria, said: "This is an ideal opportunity for smaller producers to learn all about selling through a wholesaler and if it could be beneficial for them to do so.
McClures Ltd are keen to support the idea as long as it is viable for all concerned."
The seminar is being jointly organised by the South Lakeland Local Purchasing Initiative, Made in Cumbria, McClures and the North West Development Agency.
