OLD glass negatives brought back to life using the latest digital techniques provide the focus for a centenary celebration in Grange-Over-Sands.
The Grange Then exhibition was set up to commemorate one hundred years of the Victoria Hall, built in 1901 by Kendal architect, John Hutton.
It is a joint presentation between Grange-Over-Sands and District Photographic Society, the town's Civic Society and Cartmel and District Local History Society, and runs from tomorrow (Sat-urday) until August 12, 10am-4pm.
Civic Society chairman, Peter Robinson, said the purpose of the exhibition is much more than a display of old photographs.
He told me that as well as helping local residents and visitors to learn something of the history of the town and surrounding area, they hope local people will come forward with further photographs and documents relating to the various communities' history.
Any photographs and information taken along to the exhibition will be copied for the local archive and returned to its owner.
