BANJO player extraordinaire Chris Sands teams up with pianist Patrick Sykes for Tuesday's (August 7, 8pm) Music for a Summer Evening event, at Hawkshead Parish Church.
Chris is best-known for his exploits with his five-string banjo.
He is the author of Banjo classics and has built up an enviable reputation within the finger-picking fraternity on the other side of the Atlantic, particularly the Tennessee Banjo Institution, and has been described as rapidly becoming the finest finger style banjoist active today.
He has been professional for more than 20 years and works as a duo alongside Windermere music teacher and pianist Patrick.
They perform recitals, play at dances and weddings, and during their extensive repertoire Chris also alternates on saxophone.
He also teaches both banjo and sax.
