DRIVERS travelling along the A590 through Swarthmoor can expect major delays while resurfacing work costing £440,000 is carried out this month.
A new road surface that reduces noise levels from passing traffic is being laid for 1.5 kilometres through Swarthmoor, near Ulverston.
Most of the work will be carried out overnight to minimize delays on the busy road but some disruptions are expected and drivers are being asked to be patient.
Temporary traffic lights are being installed and a 10mph speed limit enforced while the work is carried out.
It starts on Monday and is expected to take up to three weeks.
In addition to the new road surface, drains are to be repaired and new road markings installed.
