'REAL orienteering' has been in short supply recently but a strong South Lakeland contingent went to Fort William for the Scottish Six-Day event .
Almost 3000 competitors from as far away as Russia and Canada gathered to tackle the predominantly bog myrtle terrain.
Locals including Lucie Moseley (W21L), Beryl Offley (W45L), Verena Johnston (W65L) and Martin Bagness (M40L) notched up day wins, but the overall results are based on points scored each day.
These are calculated from the average time taken by competitors on that course with the four best scores to count.
Overall top three placings went to Verena Johnston (1st, W65L) Martin Bagness (1st, M40L), Stewart Fishwick (3rd,M21E), Beryl Offley (3rd, W45L), and Bob Stewardson (3rd, M70L).
