REAL ale connoisseurs in Ulverston are promised a taste sensation by taking part in a new initiative being launched next week to attract visitors.
This year, the Furness Branch of Camra has joined up with Ulverston Licensed Victuallers Association to launch the Ulverston Ale Trail.
A special brew called Cumbrian Way has been produced by Hartley's Brewery and is on sale in up to 30 pubs in the Ulverston area.
In addition to sampling the real ale, visitors are being encouraged to pick up a leaflet and take part in the trail from August 25 until September 15.
Each person has to visit 30 pubs during the three-week period and buy either a pint or a bottle of Booths beer and get the leaflet stamped at each venue.
When it is full, the leaflet will go into a free prize draw.
Real ale drinkers may also be given a free commemorative half-pint glass of Cumbrian Way when they hand in the completed leaflet to remind them of their visit to Ulverston.
Booths Supermarket and Hartley's Brewery are sponsoring the event.
Chairman of the LVA Graham Donning said: "It is the first time we have done this and we are hoping it will attract more visitors to the town if they find out they can taste a proper real ale, which has been made especially for the Ulverston area.
