THE ACCOLADES went to Westmorland Triathletes, who toasted a double victory in the British Triathlon Championships at Salford Quay when Colin Hill and Richard Cives won their respective age categories.
Hill won in the 30-34 age group and was runner-up overall in the dress-rehearsal event for the Commonwealth Games triathlon in 2002.
Racing over the Olympic distance, the course featured a 1500m open water swim in the quay, a 40km cycle race on close roads in the Deansgate and Albert Square areas of Manchester's city centre and a 10km run along Salford quays and past Old Trafford football ground.
