Two South Lakeland men with learning disabilities have conquered the 13,000 foot peak of Bishorn in the Swiss Alps.
Stephan Bateman, 30, and Neil Kirkman, 39, were on an expedition organised by the George Meredith Trust and the charity Adventure Venture which arranges adventure trips for people with learning disabilities and visual impairment.
The pair were part of a mixed-ability team on the first British expedition of its kind.
Organiser Win Abbot said: "For anybody who is not a mountaineer it was very significant and very difficult, but for anybody with a learning disability it's a really major achievement, not only for them but for society as well, because it shows that people with learning disabilities can participate and achieve this sort of thing.
Neil and Stephan are both extremely proud to have been able to do this."
Adventure Venture is now planning similar trips to Peru and Canada.
