THE WET weekend failed to stop Netherfield's assault on the Bay Northern League Premier League title.
Reigning champions Netherfield and Kendal were the only two teams to record victories with all other matches abandoned when the bad weather closed in.
Netherfield had Motors at five wickets down for six runs at one stage and dismissed them for 66 before knocking off the target for the loss of four wickets.
Motors' Peter Cummins scored 33 for his side and took three catches but his team-mates could not match his exploits.
Opening batsman Craig Walmsley made a top score of 28 and Scott Clement took3-25 for Netherfield.
In the Thwaites Lancashire Cup semi-final on Sunday, Netherfield missed out on a repeat of last year's final appearance when beaten by Ormskirk, whom they had defeated by five wickets in the showpiece at Old Trafford.
On a difficult wicket, Netherfield laboured to reach 110 all out and Ormskirk were 68 for four in the 18th over when the rain stopped further play.
It came down to overall run-rate and Ormkirk edged the decision it by less than a run.
Kendal were the only other Northern League team to win on Saturday and moved into second place, 18 points behind Netherfield, making the forthcoming Bank Holiday derby between the sides a crucial contest.
Kendal skipper David Fallows (55) and Simon Little (49) shared an unbeaten third-wicket match-winning stand to pass Lancaster' s score of 151 for seven.
