FORMER soldiers of the King's Own Royal Border Regiment Territorial Army are being signed-up to take part in the annual reunion at the weekend.
Each year the Lancastrian and Cumbrian territorial army hosts two reunions, one in Lancaster and the other in Barrow, for all former volunteers.
On Saturday August 25 the TA Centre in Holker Street, Barrow is hosting the annual reunion for more than 80 former members of the 4th battalion from all over Cumbria.
Invites have been sent out but if anyone has missed out, the territorial army is keen to inform them of the event.
In addition to being a night for people to catch up the territorial army also sees it as a recruitment drive.
Captain Brian Page, of the King's Own Royal Border Regiment Territorial Army, said: "The reunion is something we do every year and we get people from all over Cumbria coming along.
As well as getting everyone together again the re-union is also seen as a recruiting exercise.
Many of the people that come along have sons, daughters and many grandsons and granddaughters who we try to encourage to get to join the territorial army."
Anyone interested in attending the reunion can contact Captain Brian Page on 01229 821722.
