WORKERS in Kendal are being encouraged to take part in a joint car-sharing scheme.
Representatives of major employers in the town attended a meeting this week to hear the benefits Cumbria County Council's 'Travel Plan' scheme could bring.
The businesses have been asked to discuss the idea with their employees ahead of a meeting next Friday (August 31) to find whether the proposal has sufficient backing to make it worthwhile.
County consultants CAPITAdbs are coordinating the venture, and their local transport associate Kevin Walsh said that if ' Travel Plan' was successful in Kendal the scheme would be expanded countywide.
