THE Ruskin Museum, in Coniston, is celebrating its 100th birthday and the occasion will be marked with a week of celebrations.
Craft demonstrations, a family quiz, walks and events are just some of the activities on offer during the centenary celebrations, which run from tomorrow (Saturday) to Saturday, September 1.
During that period admission is £1 per person - a special rate of 100 pennies for 100 years.
The original museum charge was one penny in a slot turnstile.
Visitors can meet a copper miner on Thursday, August 30, and Professor Ruskin on Friday, August 31.
The Ruskin Museum received a commendation in the Civic Trust Awards 2001.
