Kendal's bid to wrest the leadership of the Bay Northern League away from defending champions Netherfield was dashed when they suffered their second defeat in two days by their neighbours on Sunday.
Off-spinner Marc Hadwin struck with 5-42 to help contain Kendal to 155, of which Alan Fawcett made a top-scoring 43.
Kendal made Netherfield work hard for their win, with professional Kabir Khan taking 4-47, but his Netherfield counterpart Pieter Strydom and Graham Clarke both hit half-centuries to steer the side to a three-wicket victory .
Netherfield, emerged from the weekend as title favourites with a 17-point lead at the top of the table with two games left to play, and their victory over Kendal on Sunday puts them into the league's Slater Cup final at home to Darwen this Sunday.
