An action-packed weekend course is being staged to take people behind the scenes with the Lake District's rescue teams on land, sea and in the air.
The course, based at Buttermere Youth Hostel, offers a unique insight into the lives of volunteers and RAF crews who are on 24-hour call, with participants having the chance to put to sea.
They will also have to form a rescue team to deal with a simulated accident on the fells, with support from an RAF Sea King helicopter to transport the casualty to safety.
For more details of the course, which costs £85, including meals and transport, ring Derek Tunstall on 01946 861051, or email derekftunstall@freeuk.com.
