A YMCA in south Cumbria has been hosting a European youth camp, which sees youngsters from Europe and the USA learning about each other's cultures.
Camp Philia has been held at YMCA's in Europe and the USA for 25 years.
This year Lakeside YMCA at Newby Bridge was chosen to host the event for 70 youngsters, aged between 15 and 17-years-old.
During the last two weeks the youngsters from Greece, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and the United States have been living together in tents and taking part in a number of activities, ranging from dancing to canoeing.
The aim of the camp is for the YMCA members to learn about how each other live.
Director at Lakeside YMCA Jim Dobson said: "It is a real privilege to hold the camp at Lakeside as it is decided through nomination.
It isn't the first one we have held as we held one in the early 1980's.
"It lasts two weeks and some really good friendships are made.
It should be something that happens on a more regular basis as I believe it would reduce the amount of problems in the world as people get to understand each other's points of view."
