Six of the country's top pyrotechnics companies will compete for the coveted title British Musical Fireworks Champions 2001, held at King's Garden, Southport (Aug 31-Sep 2).
Their precision displays cast breathtaking reflections on the surface of Southport's Marine Lake.
Each display will use half a ton of fireworks and cost more than £300 a minute.
The Southport Air Show takes place at Southport Beach on September 8 & 9.
A mass jump by more than 70 soldiers of the 4th Parachute Regiment will be one of the highlights of this year's Southport Air Show which is now established as the region's premier aviation event.
Finally, head to Pleasureland for family fun and white-knuckle rides like The Traumatizer, the UK's tallest, fastest, suspended looping roller coaster.
