LOCAL and tourist visitors to Sedbergh's Farfield Mill will find the region's newest arts and heritage centre full of eastern promise after this week's opening of the venue's second summer exhibition, In the Kasbah.
The exhibition, which runs until September 13, showcases art and artefacts from the Near, Middle and Far East.
And, on the first two weekends of September, visitors can experience a little more of the Orient when a dance tutor will be on hand to teach the sensual secrets of belly dancing.
"Meanwhile," says centre manager Chris Cooper, "for children and grown-ups without the stomach for belly dancing, there's more interactivity in the form of a treasure-trail quiz, complete with recipes and a painting competition.
Not forgetting our permanent Weaving Heritage exhibition and the studios and workshops of 11 resident artists and crafts people to see."
