A WEBSITE set up by a sixth form pupil at Ulverston Victoria High School to promote more live music gigs in the area is hitting the right note with local bands.
Mike Atkinson, 16, of Orchard House, Bardsea, set up the website, Imprisoned Chimp Records, with a group of friends in February in a bid to attract more live bands to play in the Ulverston area.
The website encourages bands to register their details and then Mr Atkinson arranges for them to play at various venues in the area.
After spending six months promoting the website, Mr Atkinson has managed to set up the first live music gig in the Conservative Club in Ulverston tonight.
Barrow-based rock band, Floater, Follower from Millom and Skate Goat from Ulverston will all be playing in the 120-seater venue.
The gig tonight starts at 7.30pm.
Any band who would like to register on the website can log on to www.imprisonedchimp.co.uk
