PLANS to build a house in the garden of a Silverdale residential home have been thrown out by Lancaster City Council after objections from a neighbour and the village parish council.
Mr and Mrs M.
Motch, of the Cumbria View residential home on Emesgate Lane, applied to build a two-storey, four-bedroomed house in the back garden of the old people's home.
Councillors voted unanimously to refuse the scheme on the grounds it would set a precedent for back garden development elsewhere in the village, it was an inappropriate location and would lead to a lack of privacy for the next-door neighbour.
