A LAKE District businessman has helped a community to raise funds for life-saving equipment.
A community first aid group, known as the Cockerham First Responders, raised £1,700 towards a life-saving defibrillator during a charity ball and auction.
The fund-raising total was helped along by Henry Wild, of Skelwith Fold Caravan Park, Ambleside, who donated a five-night luxury caravan holiday.
The responders are a group of trained volunteers who aim to be on hand before the emergency services arrive in order to offer help and perhaps save lives.
The responders need £4,000 for their defibrillator and donations can be made through Mr Thornton on 01995-605010.
