THE former youth centre in Shap is to become a library, after Cumbria County Council planners agreed the change of use for the building on the village's main street.
The development control and regulation committee also agreed that a new entrance could be built with a porch and access ramp.
Councillors heard that the extension had been "well designed" and that the re-use of community buildings complied with the Eden Local Plan.
