JOHN Hutton, minister for health and MP for Barrow in Furness, visited Morecambe on Monday to officially launch a £ 3.3million programme programme of redevelopment at the resort's primary care resource centre.
The overhaul will involve the demolition of the Queen Victoria Hospital and adjacent Victoria House, and the conversion of the first floor of Morecambe health centre.
In addition a purpose-built two-storey facility will be built to house a range of health-care services on one site.
